“The hotel's location is fantastic, in reach of all the charm of Old Town Alexandria. The interior common spaces are kept at a very warm temperature, especially the hallways on the various floors.
We requested a first floor room for accessibility convenience when we made our reservation and were told they would make a note on our reservation. They apparently don't have a way to track customer notes because we were told there isn't such a thing as a note on a reservation and were placed on the top floor of the hotel. The gentleman at the front desk was irritable that we requested a first floor room, and essentially informed us we could take or leave the 6th floor room he put us in. We were made to feel like we were disturbing him greatly with our 2:00 am arrival, even though we called hours earlier to reassure them we were on our way but were going to be checking in late. The front desk is definitely not staffed 24 hours a day, though the Hilton Honors customer service employee assured us it was.
The pool was out of order the entire time despite being the middle of summer (and has been for months apparently), the fitness room was out of order for about half of our 5 night stay, and none of the ice machines worked except for the lobby machine.
Parking was a challenge, as their underground parking was not nearly large enough to accommodate even half the guests' cars and we had to get creative with finding parking a couple nights. The gentleman at the front desk had a "too bad, so sad" attitude about it.
With a couple exceptions, the front desk staff was absolutely indifferent to anything customers said or requested, even something as simple as someone asking where to find a working ice machine. We were not the only ones experiencing this lackluster customer service, as I overheard several interactions between front desk staff and customers either in person or on the phone. I'm not saying we wanted sappy nice staff, but indifference, dismissiveness, and rudeness were not appreciated.
Conversely, the maintenance and housekeeping staff were delightful, friendly, and helpful.
We will stay somewhere else next time.”

“I booked a room in the morning of Tuesday June 29th, 3 hours later I tried to change the date of my reservation because my travel situation changed. They did not want to change my reservation. They charged me $180 dollars and 80 cents for nothing. I consider there is a more honest way to make money. Now I will use other Hotels on my frequents travels from NC to NY city. Being nicer to clients and understanding their circumstances can help make happy customers that will come back over and over. Stay away from inflexible businesses.”
