“We were here 5 nights over Christmas. On the first day, no one cleaned our room. When we called just to get fresh towels, we were told they'd be right up, but never showed up. Bar service was very, very slow. It was difficult to get a drink. I have not spent a lot of time in NYC but thought this would be a premium experience. However, I found the wait staff in the attached Starbucks were more attentive and thankful for my business. All that said, the hotel is beautiful, historic, and close to many major attractions, so that is worth something. I'd give it a 2.5 for service, and a 3.5 for location and history.”

“5 stars isn’t enough to rate this hotel. We were there over the weekend and while they were able to accommodate an early check in, they asked if we’d like rooms next to each other. We were happy to wait a little extra time for the second room. Oscar was extremely generous and helpful throughout our entire stay and every staff member we encountered couldn’t have been more helpful or polite. The location in Midtown is so convenient and the bar in the lobby (Stayton room) is fantastic. Great staff there too. Without a doubt I’ll be staying there during my next trip to New York City.”
